New Orleans

In January 2019 I took a weekend trip to New Orleans on a whim. With only 36 hours in the city, I wanted to experience as much as possible. Here we go!

I Flew in on JetBlue Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m.

Checked in to the W Hotel — great location and found a great deal on Hotels.com

Started my tour with chicory coffee from French Truck

Lunch from Johnny’s Po Boys

For dessert– the best beignets from Cafe Beignet

I highly recommend touring the Pharmacy Museum — so macabre!

I’ve never made it to New Orleans during Mardi Gras, so I checked out the floats being made at Mardi Gras World!

Ended my Saturday night on Bourbon Street! Jammed out with these guys at Fat Catz.

Started out my Sunday morning with a tour of the Destrehan Plantation

Then headed down to the bayous for an airboat ride — saw some Gators!

Before heading to the airport, I topped off my trip at Killer Poboys for a delicious poboy and pint of Swamp Thing IPA.

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!

If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move. — Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain said it best and I agree. Travel as far as you can, as much as you can. Most of my travels are quick trips
